Liam Farrell, full time author and storyteller, visited our school to retell the story of the Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf! He dressed up in a wolf’s costume, acted out the characters and retold the story from the wolf’s point of view, claiming that it was all the fault of The Three Little Pigs! He tried to convince the children that he really was a good wolf. The children were encouraged to take part by doing the sound affects to many of his actions. The children really enjoyed the story telling and they had lots of fun.
The older children were given a talk on How to Get Started in Writing Commercially. The aim of this talk was to encourage and inspire those that are interested in developing their writing skills. Liam covered such topics as initial ideas, planning, the process of writing, editing, layout and presentation right up to what gets sent to an editor and where to find publishers. The whole school has been focusing on the writing process and all of the children have produced wonderful work which is proudly displayed in classrooms and throughout the school. We will be uploading a sample of the great work over the coming months.
